2015-03-02 00:25:53a few short days crossing Swiss.. not nearly long enough. It was chilly, and wet.. and misty on the Interlaken exchange. A beautiful site.
2015-03-02 00:27:53On the way to Italy.. sun has come out.. one more glance at the turquoise of high Alps.
2015-03-02 00:31:50A brief stint in Luscerne... a few hours before a hitch and a blablacar to Milano... And my Via Freddi Woomba from Roma to Istanbul on foot.
2015-03-02 00:34:54after the applied pressure of two young ladies i finally got off my ass to see another one of these phenomenal Gothic Churchs...
2015-03-02 00:41:10one of the many open squares of Italy, stoned up and churched at every angle. This one in Parma.. only a few days from a long couple thousand kilometres of foot soldiering.
2015-03-02 00:46:35Napoli.... On the way out.
2015-03-02 00:53:35The ecclectic, and easy to love, channels and narrows of inner Napoli.
2015-03-02 01:00:28after a fallout with accomodation with neglectful churches to embrace a spiritual pilgrim -non-catholic- and through fear, decided to walk out of the city at night instead of taking it to a park for the evening.
2015-03-02 01:09:12a tunnel to Pompei.. a moment of channeling osmosis
2015-03-02 01:13:49Even ancient artists put me to shame. The impressive galories of the rich... before it was all swooped away from pyroclastic flows.
2015-03-02 01:18:26The Arena still standing... once a gymnast always a gymnast.
2015-03-02 01:23:33The view from Versu.
2015-03-02 01:41:28Coming into the Sorrentien Peninsula.. Nearly two weeks... the feet are good. The shoudlers too. The view . intoxicating. the tourists-locals. less intoxicating.. more in toxic.
2015-03-02 01:50:20cha-cha for the tourists grabbin a lemonade.
2015-03-02 01:57:04after hopping over a few fences and heading down a long trail of private property, got too close to the front window of some hotshots. managed to wiggle down some bushes and catch this before it dripped away.
2015-03-02 01:59:34Island of Capri, lighthouse at my back. Rome to Real.
2015-03-02 02:10:12A long ass... sweating ass day of about a kilometre in elevation shifts up and down -and half of it with broken crocs. View at the top.. leading to Positano.
2015-03-02 02:13:12Only in Europe... does the respect reach this far. 4 languages. eat your heart out canada. no excuses.
2015-03-02 02:15:52my first -and last- true hideaway beach experience in Italy.
2015-03-02 02:18:51Huge boost on a long day. Wind at my back. A reassuring embrace. a true courtesy.
2015-03-02 02:21:34So many hills and mountains and kilometres already.. so many to go... thankful for the air we breathe.
2015-03-02 02:24:17Positano... and the south coast... nearly time for Combing Maiori...
2015-03-02 02:27:23Amalfi. All the hype of Amalfi.. a huge disappointing yak in a bucket. driblets of throw up on my shorts from the speedo shots and oiled chests.
2015-03-02 02:32:41My roadside eats... in Italy. every day is a dope ass Gnocchi waitin to be cooked up if I wanted to be. That to me is near to heavenly spoiled.
2015-03-02 02:36:16the best of countryside... these things brought me joy every single time. never got old. Cold chillin on the back of one a these with the book in hands and wind in the face.
2015-03-02 02:38:19Heading to Bari... and the Balkans.. Dance a moment in the lamplighters echo
2015-03-02 02:43:59From Spinazzola to Bari... nothin. nothin at all... but a few very kind folks offering food, water and even a couple warm beers. This had me frozen, and loving.. despite the night about to hit and thirty kilometres of open, empty range.
2015-03-02 02:49:22ma man. book in hand.
2015-03-02 02:52:15As the scene blurs as do my eyes with the gallons of booze on my last night in Italy... and my last night in the Schengen Zone after 2 years.
2015-03-02 02:53:40Sunrise before the ferry.... and the Adriatic.
2015-03-02 02:56:24Dubrovnik at sundown... Croatia.. if they let me in. And if so.. another 1500 kilometres to walk before Istanbul.
2015-03-02 02:59:41The road to Bosnia! Down many euros from the long, long nights of Dubrovnik.. Down a sleeping mat -from the ferry. And down to near dehydration on my last cents until I can find a money exchange in Bosnia.
2015-06-17 16:39:36The lead in to this long valley paradise.
2015-06-17 16:51:42Taking it in.. first shower in 9 days... washing da sin off.

2015-07-06 15:40:31Salt Lake near Cappadocia.. me getting my mid air groove on.. trying ta shake the money maker and walk on some water.
2015-07-06 15:42:18The oh so famous (and overprıced) Efes... great spot.. though a shitload more work needs to be done.. this place was far from classy.. but the ampitheater hella impressive
2015-07-06 15:50:58pullin stunts on the way out the gate at last call.. before a lift 300 km to Bodrum (that took 7 hours lol)
2015-07-06 15:52:39Bodrum and their famous, poisonous, staple flower-symbol
2015-07-06 15:54:04bodrum castle... one of the many ancient pieces of a town turned to a party haven for conservative locals
2015-07-06 15:55:05OH yea.... they're just Blowin in the Wind...
2015-07-06 15:56:38Quiet Akyaka.. instead of Marmaris or Bodrum... a fresh escape.
2015-07-06 15:59:39At the top of the terraces.... slightly disappointed by the lack of angles to shoot... lack of pools to see (empty or dead)... but yet to experience the ancient city above.
2015-07-06 16:01:00not just another theatre... felt some magic in this one.
2015-07-06 16:02:18St Philips Monestary... and Pilgrimages End. Very magical for a pilgrim of new.
2015-07-06 16:05:20hella smooth though... can find this kind of pool in few places
2015-07-06 16:12:27Tuz Gul ... once a part of the sea... now a salt lake... and ıts lıke walkıng on water.
2015-07-06 16:16:56On the road to Cappadocia.... one ride.. one crazy truck driver... and dropped 5 km from Goreme (heart of the wild hobbit houses of badland canyons)
2015-07-06 16:20:49Is that planet earth????
2015-07-06 16:24:49Valley of Penises.... the start of something so magıcal.
2015-07-26 10:02:15The shitiest town I've fallen into in years... but after Vardzia.. just another drop in the bucket!
2015-07-26 10:03:58THe long, gravel road to Kumordu.. a medieval town if there ever was one.. with little masoned fences... and then dropped off in front of an immaculate view!
2015-07-26 10:04:48The goat trail down to the valley floor, and riddance of cool air for a few days :P A fantastic entrance to this spectacular area.
2015-07-26 10:06:06friend along the way down the long ass trail to Tmogvi
2015-07-26 10:07:15Ancient church of Tmogvi -for midgets
2015-07-26 10:08:35View from a monastery cave... after the long path up
2015-07-26 10:09:44Top of the monastery... chillin with a view to ourselves, as there were no tourists willing to come on up and suss it out!! Thank Christ for that one :P
2015-07-26 10:10:46Workin hard at the cave city... :P
2015-07-26 10:11:37Little seat in a tight cave of the ancient city
2015-07-26 10:12:09serious fucking grasshopper ?
2015-07-26 10:12:46One face of the cave city... of Vardzia
2015-07-26 10:14:23After a long ass scramble and hike, climbing the old walls, of jagged stone, we finally made it up to the top of this epic site.
2015-07-26 10:15:23The, once badass holder of this terrain, Tmogvi fortress -and my tired, old arse.
2015-07-26 10:16:09holdin up traffic.
2015-07-26 10:16:53can you believe it!!! Georgia.. the magical and forever giving.. but not until September. :(
2015-07-26 10:18:30On the way out of cavernous lifestyle, Khertvisi Fortress at the top of the valley towards the north.
2015-08-13 12:08:11Walking away from the scene in Gori, onto the highway again, towards Kutaisi
2015-08-13 12:10:33Our little pool, not far from our camping spot about 10 kilometers before Okatse Canyon. The morning, a farm around the corner form our camp gave us 5 eggs to boil, and Emine chucked a couple handfuls of potatoes on the coal of our little fire for breakfast! Great Start!
2015-08-13 12:24:19First glimpse of this badass water stream Okatse Canyon. Kutaisi, Georgia
2015-08-13 12:26:51Emine at the end of her pilrgimage to this massive hike from the base of the canyon... It took about 10 kilometers of walking.. but for me it paid off.. and of course I climbed right into :P
2015-08-13 12:28:31That's little me back there getting my head wet from the massively heavy, hard moving, and wind gusting cascade
2015-08-13 12:30:58Canyon number 2 Martveli.. and the eerie pools that bring a core majority of local tourists lol.
2015-08-13 12:34:13huge grotto that saw the feet of dinosaurs... on the homosapian's footpath.
2015-08-13 12:35:02A very blurry blackflip 360 :P You know I had to pull a little bit of the old school out.
2015-08-13 12:35:59One of the kinder crews of hosts to invite us in for the standard 'traditional' 3 drink round of hand made wine.
2015-08-13 12:37:04road blocks.
2015-08-13 12:39:02Repercussions of playing in the road... 'Don't you boys play on the road, OK!'
2015-08-13 12:41:07Our very drunk driver... Insistant of driving us... and insistant on cutting off every car on both sides of the road... Hopefully he made it home! (and fortunately the cops came to give us a lift -away from him)
2015-08-25 16:21:59Our last day of camping.. after a big 11 weeks... on Kobuleti, Georgia .. deceivingly huge and an interesting mix of campers and squatters no doubt.
2015-08-25 16:24:20The last view of Batumi, Georgia after an ecclectic journey through some very solid tales and turns.
2015-08-25 16:25:28As close as I'd get to Russia... for now at least. :( Waiting at port 12 hours...
2015-08-25 16:27:12The last night before Bulgaria.. after a solid, gratifying and complaint-less journey across the Black Sea (except for a very rocky couple evenings with crackling wood framing -but nothing is perfect)
2015-08-25 16:28:50The endless line-up of cars and trucks crossing from Bulgaria to Romania (as the construction of the bridge is no end in sight -maybe leave your car on one side or the other)
2015-08-25 16:29:41The riverside of Bulgaria, beautiful and natural
2015-08-25 16:31:05bye bye darling... see you soon huge hugs and kisses your way.. and safety for the near future.
2015-09-02 13:23:29The unexpectedly lovely Bucahrest... Gigantic and a little bit to block-like but nevertheless it was a gorgeous visit -that stretched a little longer than expected.
2015-09-02 13:27:36Not the cleanest water. :P
2015-09-02 13:29:00reminded me of someone I'd rather of looked up to... and feared.
2015-09-02 13:30:19THe overexaggerated Parliament -that apparently Donald Turmp wanted to buy (before running for President perhaps).
2015-09-02 13:32:50The outside of the Buscegi Mountains at a distance (which I ran from at Bran after all the tourists started to stare at me and my sweaty butt-crack).
2015-09-02 13:33:51Sunset as I hitched across to Cluj from Brasov (a spot I waited at for about 45 minutes -after walking 10 km)
2015-09-02 13:35:06My roadside companion as the sun went down.
2015-09-02 13:36:38One of the many infamous Monasteries of Romania with their witch hat rooves... this one much newer than others.
2015-09-02 13:39:27The humorous cemetary of northern Romania, where death is more of a playful element than back home for instance... a strange toursit attraction, but nevertheless, packed with curious folks snapping shots like I.
2015-09-02 13:40:19My bedroom last night in Romania :P
2015-09-02 13:41:39See you next time Romania!
2015-09-02 13:42:12Ukrainian Roadside... and all its breath-taking beauty...
2016-05-03 21:00:12It was truly a love making process when I'd arrived to Lviv. Not only because it was so hard to arrive there hitching. The walking and walking and walking. There was eventually a door or even two that opened but not without some serious determination. People say that it should be so nice and wonderful, but when its 2 hours of walking in a direction your not even sure is the right one, because of a language barrier and the lack of a smart phone. This, is, what makes this a life not made for everyone.
It's a city that one my heart the minute I arrived, late in the evening, off of the outer city bus.
2016-05-03 21:03:41I love this image, because I am a die hard romantic, but can't bare to show it. Im a strong headed broken wheel that adores love. But yet, fears it, hides from it, and behaves as if it is an illusion played by Hallmark or Lindt
2016-05-03 21:05:54The fountain is constantly attracting me. Everywhere I go I am drawn, by my simple mind, towards the high flying water, spraying itself around a fish bowl. It's a simple amusement and apparently I can't resist.
2016-05-04 00:30:13The first experience of Krakow was a guy who'd clearly drunk too much and was in a very tough state. This guy was on the brink of death. And in the evening, a walking tour of unique measure, speaking of a few dark secrets that this city held. For one: People were buried, after being killed in certain ritualistic ways, after being believed to be vampires. One way was to bash out all the teeth so the vampire would starve.
2016-05-04 00:32:56THis old town square impressed me a great deal. Its just that added piece of gritty that calls on some kind of nostalgia for suffering. Leading me into the next stroll through struggle and torture.
2016-05-04 00:37:29Unbelievable darkness. Undoubtably the worst place to ever go.. But highly necessary as well. Like the Killing Fields of Phnom Penh, this place is right up there too. The worst of the worst I suppose. And for me it was really, an experience so haunting, that I could feel something and that feeling made me somehow satisfied. Like I'd experienced something. The absolute sadness brought on some kind of solution. This is the ultimate human failure. One of many of these horrible butcher houses. There is no compassion in the air. Only suffering.
2016-05-04 00:43:00A court of grand stature in my neighbourhood of Berlin, well worth some time -Wedding that is. It's a grimey burrough that is mostly ugly most would say. However, there is some real character about, within the limits of Wedding. Still, it is also not the universe itself. Oh no, not even close.
2016-05-04 00:43:57One shouldn't experience the city of Berlin without a bike I guess. It's really a practical decision full stop.
2016-05-04 00:45:10Mauerpark. Sundays.
2016-05-04 00:46:23There are dozens and dozens of wonderful little lakes surrounding Berlin. An endless supply. As well as bars, these are worth the tour.
2016-05-04 00:48:04Where its known to get rugged in the city of never-ending-night
2016-05-04 00:51:28One of those lucky moments when your so happy to have decided to wander about the town despite rain. And that your host decided to pack the umbrella.
2016-05-04 00:57:20The mighty palace of Schwerine, kickin around for a thousand years. Though no doubt has had its fair share of facelifts and boob jobs. Even in this picture you can see the cranes swinging on a regular basis you can bet. Like every other ancient hallmark of Europe, they've all -or just about all- got city works happening to keep them from crumbling over I suppose. Though we all know, new color really does steal away its ancient value, no?
2016-05-04 00:59:34The Copenhagen cemetary, aside from Lise -my mate I came to visit foremost- this place is my number two must visit spot and then of course... Christiania. Of course. And in my opinion, a whole lot better than Amsterdam (Christiania that is).
2016-05-04 01:03:08Easily one of the top spots in Copenhagen. This abandoned shoithole, built into a bombing palyground with mini-ramp for skating and all. Plus, while I was stopping by, a couple of tents settin up shop!
2016-05-04 01:05:44If Copenhagen wasn't so expensive I woulda happily settled in up there instead of Berlin the past summer. Don't care how cold it gets.
2016-05-10 19:40:05Awaiting my ferry across the Baltic to Lithuania, in a moment of greatness.
2016-05-10 19:44:30Average Day
2016-05-10 19:45:53Typical meal
2016-05-10 19:47:11Typical sleeping arrangement
2016-05-10 19:50:29Adios Sweden
2016-05-13 19:05:10Great views of the Baltic
2016-05-13 19:08:43Vilnius, and a very surprising beauty of a city. Humble and cute, reminiscent of Bratislava somehow. A place I really fell in with. Almost stuck. But life moves forward.
2016-05-13 19:12:28Just a short drive out of Vilnius to this lakeside village
2016-05-13 19:18:40After 6 months in Berlin, saving, back on the road!!!
2016-05-13 19:19:34A community bar, rather, THE community bar in Leipzig.
2016-05-13 19:20:26An insanely large monument for those that fought hard against Napolean.
2016-05-13 19:24:01The Frankonian countryside, leisure time, tiny villages and crumbling castles
2016-05-13 19:25:43Heidelberg, a very impressive city.
2016-05-13 19:32:39The 2nd largest cathedral on our planet. Koln.
2016-05-13 19:36:52A night out in Koln
2016-05-13 19:41:10Just your typical street art around Deutschland
2016-05-13 19:42:40My last days in Germany, with my favourite lady around.
2016-06-30 09:54:16I showed up in Utrecht, just in time for the King's Day Celebrations. What a day to show up in Holland. 4 years in Europe and finally reached this country, and I show up on their biggest day! And it was pretty epic.
2016-06-30 09:57:53One of the top things in this part of the world, is that the cities built themselves on canals. Utrecht was my first. Certainly not my last. In fact, after Bruges, I was ready to suicide if I had to walk around another canal city. But they were still picturesque and enticing.
2016-06-30 09:59:27The busy streets of Amsterdam
2016-06-30 10:00:32Amsterdam, another canal city
2016-06-30 10:01:50A legend. Shakey Graves. First Euro Tour and man did he light it up on stage to a full room. Unbelievable show. Mad energy.
2016-06-30 10:03:32A bit of the red light district... something that is not simply reserved to Amsterdam. Those pink window-framed, lights can be found all over Nederlands, and Belgium.
2016-06-30 10:07:46So not only did I show up in Utrecht for a free party, but in Rotterdam there was also a yearly, bigtime festival with some huge name performances from Holland showing up. Hell of a show!
2016-06-30 10:14:30Oh yea, the Dutch architecture... Gotta love it's colour magnificence
2016-06-30 10:18:19After Rotterdam was wiped off the map by bombs in WW2, they decided to modernise construction. All over the city you have the old meets the new. Those two little steam boat tubes were a Canadian's sculpture dedicated to the biggest European port. Once the biggest port world-wide before a few years ago (replaced by Shanghai).
2016-06-30 10:21:58Another canal city
2016-06-30 10:38:43On me way and into Belgium
2016-06-30 10:39:51More of the intricate Western European architecture, this found in Antwerp.
2016-06-30 10:43:15Heaviest, strongest, yet very tasty. They are not shy to call their beer the best in the world. Not shy at all.
2016-06-30 10:48:48Just another streetside piece of modern work played on old, forgotten church display
2016-06-30 10:51:11Candles lit for those that were lost in a recent explosion.
2016-06-30 10:52:31The wonderful art, and the displaced souls of modern day war. A mix of what is Brussel-Belgium
2016-06-30 10:54:01Bruges, another canal city
2016-06-30 10:55:54Again, arriving just in time for a party. This time, Bruges's Belgium Cup. Their first in 11 years! Thousands packed into the tiny, ancient square.
2016-06-30 10:58:34The unrelenting architecture... Like a kelaidescope of potential fun, tripping on a bean or if only was lucky enough to be offered a bit of DMT (maybe next time!)
2016-06-30 11:00:38Castles, and Churches and Cathedrals Oh My!
2016-06-30 11:01:43Castles and cathedrals and churches oh my!
2016-06-30 11:03:11castles, and cathedrals and churches oh my!
2016-06-30 11:05:10Castles and cathedrals and churches, oh my!
2016-06-30 11:06:34Castles, and cathedrals and churches, OH MY!
2016-06-30 11:09:52These are the main sites of WW1 as Germany fought to push the line into France, from Ypres, Belgium, against the Allies. A Movement that shifted less than 100 km in 4 years and costed more than a million lives in the ultimate trench warfare
2016-06-30 11:11:30Mine shaft explosions, below trenches, that left craters, now seemingly like small ponds.
2016-06-30 11:12:27Old trench lines now grown over by grass, and turned into farm land. Once deserted and of ash.
2016-06-30 11:13:05original gas masks. what!
2016-06-30 11:19:04My last view of Belgium. An open field. But also. Once a battlefield to thousands of dead soldiers.
2016-06-30 11:47:51Though not my first time, like most places, in fact, my 4th time, different than the others I start into France from the north, and Lille.
2016-06-30 11:49:19Classic French square, opera and a clock tower :P
2016-06-30 11:50:22Lovin it in Lille
2016-06-30 11:58:38Late night hours strollin past N.D, shortly before meeting a Siberian Eskimo ... in Paris !!!
2016-06-30 12:00:19early morning, as the sun rises, drunk hanging off a top floor terrace
2016-06-30 12:02:03Had to include the eiffle
2016-06-30 12:03:05The long, high, beautiful field alleys of Versaille.
2016-06-30 12:05:03Every decent French meal should have at least a little bit a this shoit. Beautiful. And my new fav, Epoisse (spelling is probably wrong). Epoisse.. the one that has an orange film over the cheese! The top shelf of livin!
2016-06-30 12:06:15Cafes... Baguettes... Black and white striped shirts!
2016-06-30 12:07:54St. Malo. First beaches, for me, since winter washed away. Yet, still, a wee bit too cold to plunge in.
2016-06-30 12:09:33Fantastic, crumbling, unique streets of Rennes. And though I say unique, these thachet-style structures (made with actual wood) do look a lot like those in Frankonia (northern Bavaria).
2016-06-30 12:12:11And though I've walked so many cities in Europe.. It doesn't seem to get old. There's always an angle.
2016-06-30 12:14:22A couple sailors from La Rochelle's dock of bay, and an old friend from the road. A lot of beers, and the wonderful midnight lights of cobblestone'd streets.
2016-06-30 12:18:17So long my sailing friends!! They said, 'You gotta get yourself on a boat, man. Seriously. You think you don't belong? Oh no. You are a boat man.'
2016-06-30 12:20:08She plays the accordian as i walk on by.. and the old sounds of the Epoche ring in my ears, and heart, and of course there is yet, so much more.
2016-06-30 12:21:38The white wash halls of La Rochelle.
2016-06-30 12:22:52Lyon. One that I had tried to reach for too long. And finally. It is certianly worth it.
2016-06-30 12:25:27And bars. Can't forget the bars.
2016-06-30 12:26:16And street art, can't forget the street art!
2016-06-30 12:27:00What else does France boast? Oysters. Can't forget the oysters!
2016-06-30 12:27:53Roman Theatre of Lyon
2016-06-30 12:29:27Arena of Nimes after waking up in the beautiful Jardin des Fontaines.
2016-06-30 12:30:16Jardin des Fontaines, of Nimes. Little Roma in France.
2016-06-30 12:31:32Gorgeous streets, that I simply cannot get enough of.
2016-06-30 12:32:34No, no. This is not a building. It's Street Art. A mural on the backside of a building in Lyon. Uncanny. Top of it's class.
